The National Folk and Dance Company of Colombia (Ballet Folklórico De Antioquia, COLOMBIA)

Wednesday, March 14 at 7 PM
Sponsored by the FLAME 104.7 and 1400 AM WIRA The LIGHT
and also Sponsored by Sandhurst Hotel and Suites

The Sunrise Theatre Foundation and the Sunrise Theatre, with financial support from Walmart Distribution in the form of a $4,000 Grant, will be presenting The National Folk and Dance Company of Colombia FREE to the General Public.

The National Folk and Dance Company of Colombia was a special guest at the Beijing Olympic games in 2008 – the first Colombian group to ever participate in such an event – and is enjoying a rapidly expanding international reputation for its virtuosic expression of Colombian Folklore and its many manifestations in dance and physical theater, celebrating classical and contemporary performance styles. In fact, the ballet has been critically acclaimed for its professionalism, high technical level, and artistic quality.

The National Folk and Dance Company of Colombia is a cultural organization with a 20-year trajectory that promotes the strengthening of Colombian cultural identities in national and international audiences through the enjoyment of dance and music as artistic expressions.

Diversity, precision, and emotion are the characteristics that shine through in each of the 60 choreographies that we present, all of which are compiled in the following shows: Baila Colombia, Colombia Cultura Milenaria, Colombia Viva, Tierra de Esperanza, Sabor Latino, Colombia de Fiesta y Carnaval, and Tierra de Tambores y Polleras.
