TCCH Offers Free CPR and AED Training

The Treasure Cost Community Health (TCCH) will host Advanced Electronic Defibrillator (AED) training on April 28.

Following is a summary of the relevant information for this event:

Location: Treasure Coast Community Health, 1545 Oslo Road, Vero Beach, Florida

Date/Time: April 28… tours and equipment on-site 10AM through 1PM

CPR/AED classes throughout the day, reservations are required, interested persons call 571-1983.

FREE CPR and AED Training: Participants will learn how to recognize the symptoms of a SCA, Stroke, Heart Attack and how to do Layperson CPR (for adults, children, and infants), heimlich maneuver (choking), hands only cpr, compression only cpr and rescue breathing.  In addition, in all classes, we will teach you how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for victims of sudden cardiac arrest. Free without certification card, or $20 with one.

Live demonstrations by the American Red Cross, and the Indian River County Fire Department, including pet resuscitation.  The Indian River County Sherriffs  Department’s McGruff will also be there.  Hurricane preparedness information will be available.

The “We Care to Wear Pink” organization will have their pink fire truck onsite.  This very active group has banded together to raise money for the women’s health issues, particularly breast cancer.

Emergency Vehicles on-site will include: Fire trucks, Ambulance, Sheriff’s Department Demonstration Subaru, Red Cross Emergency Response Vehicles.
